　　昔の話し
へりこぷた 　我が愛機シャトルには、全く隠す必要のない過去がある。
　シャトルを私が手に入れたのは、大学卒業の２ヶ月ほど前であった。それまでＲＣグライダーをしていた私は、燃料を使うヘリコプターには、あまり興味がなく、ラジコン屋に行っても人事として捉えていた。
　そんなある日、中古でヘリを買わないか？という誘いが舞い込んできたのである。食いつくのに、さほどの時間を要しなかった。そこから私のヘリコプター人生は始まったのである。
　その後に立てた目標は、大学卒業までの２ヶ月間でホバリング（空中に浮いてじっとする事）が出来るようになる事であった。普通に見れば、誰にでもすぐに出来る事と思えるのだが、これが、かなり厳しい。始めのうちは、１０センチ浮き上がる事が至難の技である。どうにかこうにか目標を上回った１ヶ月以内で、ホバリングが曲がりなりにも出来るようになった。使用した燃料は、４リッター缶×２であった。
　それから後の１ヶ月間は、もう１歩進んだ練習をした。前後左右に動かす事であるとか、高めに飛ばしてみる事である。そののち、卒業が目前に控えた頃には、不細工に８の字飛行が出来るまでになっていた。
　しかし、ここにきて大破である。

シャトル		 　大破。ＲＣヘリにはつき物である。
　ＲＣヘリというものは、飛ばすための必要機材一式を整えるのにもお金がかかるが、その後にかかる費用がまた大きい。ほんの少し着陸に失敗しただけで、ハイ５０００円。機体が傾いて地面に接触、ハイ１５０００円。もちろん改造費・燃料費等はまた別にかかるのである。私は、大学卒業間近に、しかもなけなしのお金をはたいてヘリを購入したため、修復するお金は残っていなかった。
　こののち２ヶ月の間、無残な姿で横たわるシャトルの姿があった。
　社会人になってからというもの、時間もあまりなく、また土曜日曜を主な仕事日としていたため、飛ばした回数は非常に少ない。しかし、会社を辞めた今、この時間を利用して練習に励もうと思う。
　めざすはＦ３Ｃ選手権。

　実は実は、新しい機体が欲しいなぁと思っとるわけで。その名を「エルゴ５０タイプUＣＣＰＭ」という。１０万円近くの投資になるかと思うが、ぜひ実現させたい。
